The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health’s Office of Public Health Preparedness (OPHP) is responsible for preparing the department, the health care community and the State to respond to a public health emergency, or the public health impacts of a disaster. They are responsible for coordinating disaster-related planning, training and exercising for the department and coordinating with local, state and federal emergency management agencies before, during and after an event.
